DOUBLE DOWN (DD)
DoubleDown (DD) is the Maxxis casing built for enduro racing and e-bikes. Two layers of a light 120 TPI casing material are combined with a rubber insert in the sidewall to make a very durable tyre. A DoubleDown tyre performs better on the trail than a downhill casing. The one difference that changes how it feels is that DoubleDown is lighter and damps a little less than downhill.

TUBELESS READY
Tubeless tyres bring the rider several advantages: you can run lower pressures, which improves grip, and rolling resistance is lower than with a tube. And if the tyre is punctured, pressure drops far more slowly, since there is no tube. Tubeless tyres are marked TR on the sidewall.

WIDE TRAIL (WT)
The Wide Trail (WT) construction gets the tread layout and profile right on today’s wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims, and the profile can distort, which costs performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35 mm internal rim width, though they have proved to suit rims of 30 to 35 mm.
Maxxis Wide Trail XC tyres are optimised for rims with a 30 mm internal width, though they work well on rims down to 25 mm. Maxxis does not recommend rims wider than 30 mm or narrower than 25 mm.
