MAXXSPEED
The new MaxxSpeed (2023) is a top tier compound for XC racing. High in silica, it lowers rolling resistance and improves wet grip. Against the previous 3C MaxxSpeed, rolling resistance in the laboratory is about 25% lower, with the same tread pattern, construction and pressure. These Maxxis tests suggest that in real riding the new compound can save up to a minute over a 90 minute race.
EXO puncture protection
EXO is a puncture and abrasion resistant material used in the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tyres. It is dense yet light and very flexible, so it does not change how the tyre behaves. Choose EXO puncture protection for durable tyres on gravel, XC and easier forest trails.
TUBELESS READY
Tubeless tyres bring the rider several advantages: you can run lower pressures, which improves grip, and rolling resistance is lower than with a tube. And if the tyre is punctured, pressure drops far more slowly, since there is no tube. Tubeless tyres are marked TR on the sidewall.
