Wider shoulder knobs give more support, which makes the tyre handle exceptionally well. Ramped knobs down the centre help acceleration, and the sipes in them build confidence when the bike is leaned over. Paddle shaped knobs bite hard under heavy braking, which keeps the bike in hand. It pairs well with a Minion DHF at the rear for an aggressive combination on the trail.

EXO puncture protection
EXO is a puncture and abrasion resistant material used in the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tyres. It is dense yet light and very flexible, so it does not change how the tyre behaves. Choose EXO puncture protection for durable tyres on gravel, XC and easier forest trails.
TUBELESS READY
Tubeless tyres bring the rider several advantages: you can run lower pressures, which improves grip, and rolling resistance is lower than with a tube. And if the tyre is punctured, pressure drops far more slowly, since there is no tube. Tubeless tyres are marked TR on the sidewall.
WIDE TRAIL (WT)
The Wide Trail (WT) construction gets the tread layout and profile right on today’s wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims, and the profile can distort, which costs performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35 mm internal rim width, though they have proved to suit rims of 30 to 35 mm.
Maxxis Wide Trail XC tyres are optimised for rims with a 30 mm internal width, though they work well on rims down to 25 mm. Maxxis does not recommend rims wider than 30 mm or narrower than 25 mm.
